Welcome to your 'Cox & Kings European Splendours' tour. Upon arrival in Berlin, proceed to your hotel and check in (check in after 1400 hours). The rest of the day is free to explore the city on your own. (D)
Day 2 -
Orientation Tour Of Berlin * Onto Prague
This morning, enjoy an orientation tour of Berlin which includes a drive past the Oranienburgerstrasse Synagogue, the Brandenberg Gate, the newly restored glass-domed Reichstag, home of the Parliament. See the famous Adlon Hotel, which was taken over by Hitler for his headquarters and Germany’s massive Holocaust Memorial in the heart of the city. Later drive to Prague , a fairy tale town in the heart of Europe. For thousands of years the architects of Prague have used every artifi ce ever invented to embellish a building, from Gothic arcades to Renaissance windows to Rococo angels and Art Nouveau sylphs, long before "the city of hundred spires" acquired its uplifting skyline on the river Vltava. Prague's rich heritage attracts crowds of painters, photographers and art lovers who, in spite of everything they've heard and read, never fail to be surprised. (B, L, D)
Day 3 -
Onto Salzburg * City Tour Of Prague
Today enjoy an orientation tour of Prague . Begin your city tour of Prague with the Castle Area, Art Nouveau Building of Main Train Station, Opera House and Wenceslas Square. Continue via the New Town Quarter to Charles Square with the New Town Hall. Pass the Dancing House to Smichov quarter, the industrial and business part of the town. Go through the residential area of Strahov to Prague Castle. After a photo stop at Prague Castle continue to the Old Town. Finish your tour at the Old Town Square with the famous Astronomical Clock. Continue your scenic drive as you depart for Salzburg , the beautiful baroque city of 'Mozart' and 'The Sound of Music'. Later, check into your hotel in the Salzburg area. (B, L, D)
Day 4 -
Onto Innsbruck * Guided City Tour Of Salzburg * Visit Swarovski Crystal Worlds * Orientation City Tour Of Innsbruck
Today you will explore the best of Austria 's Baroque architecture and Salzburg , which is the venue for one of the world 's most important music festivals. Visit the Altstadt (old city) on the west bank of the Salzach River, where you will enjoy a walk through the labyrinth of pathways admiring the 17th century facades. Some of the highlights in the Altstadt are 'Mozart 's Geburtshaus ', the famous musicians birthplace which houses a collection of his belongings and the great Cathedral. See several locations associated with 'The Sound of Music '. Continue on a scenic drive to Innsbruck . Enroute, you will halt at the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens for a visit to the 'Chambers of Wonder ' where you will be awestruck. A real treat for crystal enthusiasts is the Swarovski shop, which has a remarkable collection of beautiful exhibits. Carry onwards to Innsbruck for an orientation tour of the city. You will view famous landmarks like the Golden Roof also known as the Golden Dachl; the ornate Imperial Palace, and the magnifi cent Imperial Church, a splendid example of Baroque architecture. Day 5 -
Onto Venice Area * Walking Tour Of Venice
Today your journey takes you on a drive past quaint villages and medieval castles to the magical lagoon city of Venice , where on arrival you proceed on a walking tour . It includes a canal cruise from Tronchetto Pier past some of the fi nest Venetian buildings to the Piazza San Marco (St.Marks Square), where you disembark and continue to the Doge's Palace connected by the Bridge of Sighs to the feared prisons. It was from here that the legendary Casanova made his famous escape! Continue to the square for a view of the famous Moors who have been striking the hour for the past 500 years. Don't forget to admire the beautiful mosaics decorating St.Marks Basilica. This exciting tour ends with a brief visit to a Murano Glass Factory for a demonstration in glass blowing. Day 6 -
Onto Tuscany * Orientation Tour Of Pisa * Walking Tour Of Florence
The day begins with a scenic drive across the Apennine Mountains, past Bologna along the Brenta Riviera to Galileo's coastal town of Pisa where you will visit the Field of Miracles with buildings like the Duomo, the Baptistery and the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa (photo stop), famed for its characteristic tilt, and also for the beauty of its architectural structure. Continue your drive to the Renaissance city of Florence where on arrival you proceed on a walking tour of the city, visiting the open-air gallery in Signoria Square; the famous Duomo, a marvel of architecture that offers a breathtaking view of the entire city from the top; admire the magnifi cent 'Gates of Paradise' adorning the Baptistery and Ponte Vecchio, the oldest surviving bridge in the city. Do not miss an opportunity to shop for Florentine leather bags. Then proceed on a drive through a stretch of olive groves and vineyards of the Tuscany region where on arrival you will check into your hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 7 -
Full Day Excursion To Rome * Visit The Vatican City * Guided Panoramic City Tour Of Rome
This morning, proceed on a drive through some of the fi nest Italian countryside, past Orte & Orvieto to the "Eternal City" of Rome. Enjoy a full day introduction to Rome and the Vatican City , a city within the city of Rome. Begin at St. Peter's Basilica, one of the largest churches in the world symbolizing the center of Christianity and featuring Michelangelo's famous Pieta. Later, continue your guided panoramic city tour which includes a photo stop at the grand ruins of the Colosseum; the triumphal Arch of Constantine followed by a drive through Piazza Venezia, the main square in Rome where the monument to the reunifi cation of Italy overshadows the other monuments with it's sheer size and blinding white colour. End the tour at the famous Trevi Fountain - the largest fountain in the city, where if you make a wish and toss a coin you are sure to return to Rome! Day 8 -
Onto Nice * Visit Eze, Monaco and Monte Carlo
Today bid 'arrivederci' to Italy as you drive along the Italian Riviera to the sun drenched countryside of the south of France. Enroute visit to the quaint village of Eze for a demonstration in perfume making. Later continue to the old town of Monaco and enjoy a walking tour of the famous sights which include the Palais du Prince - the Palace of the Rainier family and Cathedral the Monaco which contains the tombs of Monaco's former princes. Carry onto Monte Carlo where you can enjoy an exciting visit to the liveliest casino on the Riviera on your own. Carry onwards and check into your hotel (B, L, D)
Day 9 -
Onto Switzerland * Orientation City Tour Of Nice * Visit Cannes * Optional Gala evening with Swiss Folklore, Disco Dancing and a free fl ow of wine and food at Mt Cox & Kings, an exclusive moutain in Switzerland that is all yours.
This morning, proceed on an orientation city tour of Nice , which includes a visit to the world famous Promenade des Anglais, a drive past the Negresco Hotel and the Old Port Quarters where yachts are moored. Continue onto Cannes , a beautiful natural harbour known as a world famous venue for numerous International Film Festivals in the Palais des Festivals. Visit the Old Town dominated by the church of Notre Dame de l'Esperance followed by some free time at the famed Boulevard de la Croisette lined with palm trees. Continue to the Swiss region of Lungern, where an exclusive optional evening tour has been lined up for you. Live it up with Cox & Kings celebration heights, Mt Cox & Kings - a Swiss Mountain in the Lungern - Schonbuel belt, so exclusive, it's exclusively for you. Day At Leisure * Optional Excursion To Mt. Titlis With The Ice Flyer, An Indian Lunch, Lucerne City Tour And A Cruise On Lake Lucerne
The day is free. We highly recommend our optional excursion to Mt.Titlis , a unique snow and glacier paradise and one of the highest peaks. The excitement begins with a rotating cable car ride up the mountain, followed by a thrilling ride in the Ice Flyer above the glacier. Experience the thrill of numerous attractions like a visit to the Glacier Park, or try your hand rollicking on snow tubes. After an Indian lunch, the day continues with a visit to Lucerne city . Here visit the Lion Monument, carved into a limestone cliff followed by a stroll along the covered Kappelbrucke to the richly ornate Jesuit Church. Also enjoy a mesmerising Cruise, as it sails on the tranquil waters of Lake Lucerne . Finally, visit Casagrande for Swiss souvenirs. Later in the evening, drive back to your hotel. (B, D)

Day At Leisure * Optional Excursion To The Jungfraujoch, ascending By Cogwheel Train Including A Lunch, An Interlaken City Tour and Visit the Aare Gorge
The day is free. We recommend our enjoyable optional excursion to the Jungfraujoch ascending by cogwheel train to the top. Explore and enjoy numerous attractions like a walk on the great Aletsch Glacier, at 22 kms - the longest ice stream in the Alps. Visit the glistening Ice Palace , 30 meters under the surface of the glacier where you join us in our 249th celebratory year as Jungfrau felicitates Cox & Kings. We have been honored with our own ice sculpture, at the Ice Palace! - an exclusive first. You can take a celebratory picture here as a fi tting fi nale to one of the most picturesque experiences in Europe. Take in the spectacular view from the Sphinx observation hall and terrace - Europe’s highest altitude vantage point at 3571 meters. Enjoy a delicious lunch amidst the perfect views. Later descend to visit the picturesque resort town in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, Interlaken, where even today one can see horse-drawn carriages. Visit the Kirchhofer's Casino Gallery famous for its Swiss watches, chocolates and other accessories. The day comes to an end with another exclusive from Cox & Kings - avisit to ' Aareschlucht', the Aare Gorge at Meiringen, a 1400 m long and 200 m wide wonder of nature, where you can walk tunnels cut through the rock. Onto the Mont Blanc In Chamonix * Visit Geneva * Cable Car Ride To Aiguille du Midi and Visit To The Mer De Glace In Chamonix Valley
This morning after an early breakfast drive to Geneva and proceed for an orientation tour which includes the Palais des Nations - U.N. Building, the Musee Ariana, the world's tallest fountain in Europe - the Jet d'eau and the beautiful fl ower clock situated in the Jardin Anglais. Later proceed to the "Love at fi rst sight" Chamonix Valley and enter the majestic world of the high mountains and the exhilarating Mont Blanc. You will be mesmerised by the breathtaking delights of the glacier around you. Later take an excursion on the highest and most impressive cable car ride in Chamonix, the Aiguille du Midi to 3842 meters for an unforgettable view of the entire Mont Blanc range. The world-renowned Mont Blanc range is located in Chamonix Valley in France. On a clear day you can also see the Monte Rosa, the Grand Combin and even the Matterhorn. Later, enjoy another exceptional sightseeing excursion with a neverending view on the nostalgic red cog railway to Montenvers , the highest scenic train in the Alps directly up to the "Mer de Glace" (sea of ice) Glacier at 1913 meters. This morning you will drive to the station to board the high - speed 'TGV' train to Paris, the romantic "City of Lights". The TGV is a relaxing way to see Europe and cuts down the driving time by coach by almost 3 to 4 hours. This allows you to enjoy Paris at a leisurely pace. Disembark and proceed to visit the famous Grevin Wax Museum, an exclusive by Cox & Kings. Grevin, a legendary site of entertainment since 1882, was created by Alfred Grevin a cartoonist and his friend Gabriel Thomas a brilliant wit. In the 18th century, a German named Curtis revived the fashion for wax studies. He had for his assistant his niece, the future Madame Tussaud, who by 1789 replaced him. This exciting evening unfolds with a cruise on the River Seine , sailing under some of the city's enchanting bridges, admiring the dazzling illuminated sights and monuments, an Indian Dinner and the 'Bonheur Show' at the Lido. Today, drive to Brussels. Enroute we stop at the quaint city of Brugges for a walking orientataion tour through the Minnewater and its lovely park which is the entrance to this beautiful city. Walk past the canals due to which Brugges got its name as 'The Venice of the North'. Visit the church of Our Lady to view the Madonna by Michelangelo. The market square and the Burg which still is the administrative heart of the city, the Belfry and the cloth hall. Continue your drive to Brussels for an enjoyable orientation tour featuring sites like the magnifi cent St. Michel's Cathedral, Grand Place and the cheeky Mannekin Pis. Later, check into your hotel. Day 16 -
Arrive into Hull * On to London * Guided Panoramic City Tour of London
Today you will enjoy a full day excursion beginning with a drive through the Dutch countryside to Amsterdam and its surroundings visiting highlights like a Windmill, (photo stop), Cheese Factory, Clog Making Factory (visit) for a demonstration to see how wooden shoes are made. Enjoy a picturesque Canal Cruise in a glass topped boat gliding through beautiful canals admiring the magnifi cent view of the city's sights. End the tour with some free time at Dam Square. Today you have the option to enjoy our London Delights Tour which includes the Swaminarayan Temple, Madame Tussauds and the London Eye. See the majestic Shri Swaminarayan Mandir replete with luminescent white pinnacles and glittering marble pillars. Later visit the Madam Tussauds wax museum , where you can see lifesize wax structures of well known celebrities like Michael Jackson, Mahatma Gandhi, Amitabh Bachchan and many more.
