Classical Europe - 15 Days / 14 Nights

Day 1 - Begin your tour * Arrive into London * Guided panoramic City Tour of London
Welcome to your Cox & Kings tour. Check in to the hotel at your convienience (after 1400 hours). Later in the afternoon enjoy a guided panoramic tour of the city, which includes attractions like the Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Hyde Park, Big Ben, Westminster Palace, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, the London Eye, River Thames and Buckingham Palace amongst others. Later return to your hotel.

Day 2 - Onto The Netherlands * Channel crossing * Orientation City Tour of Brussels
Today you will cross the English Channel by ferry and arrive at Calais. Later, continue to the elegant Belgian capital city of Brussels. On arrival into Brussels enjoy an orientation tour featuring sights like the magnificent Atomium (photostop), St. Michel's Cathedral - an excellent example of Gothic style architecture, the Grand Place with its beautiful gilded buildings and the cheeky Mannekin Pis (photo stop). Drive onwards, past canals and tall gabled houses arriving into the Netherlands where you will check into your hotel. (B, D)

Day 3 - The Netherlands * Excursion to Keukenhof / Madurodam * Visit Amsterdam
Today you will enjoy a full day excursion beginning with a visit to the Keukenhof Gardens the famous tulip gardens of the Netherlands (only when in bloom from March 25th to May 20th). The rest of the year you will visit Madurodam - presenting many of the country's most historic structures in miniature. Continue onto the Dutch countryside to Amsterdam and its surroundings, visiting highlights like a Windmill (photo stop), Cheese farm and Clog factory for a demonstration to see how cheese and wooden shoes are made. Later enjoy a picturesque canal cruise in a glass topped boat gliding through beautiful canals admiring the magnificent view of the city's sights. End the tour with some free time at Dam Square encircled by the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), the Royal Palace and the War Memorial. Later return to your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 4 - On to the Rhineland area * Visit Cologne Cathedral * Cruise on the River Rhine * Visit Heidelberg
This morning proceed to Cologne, the metropolis on the Rhine where on arrival you will visit the Cathedral - the first Gothic church in the Rhineland with its characteristic spires. Later we take the River Rhine Cruise, which is extraordinary. Then continue your scenic drive to Heidelberg, situated in the Valley of the River Neckar and world famous for its romantic castle and picturesque Old Town with awe-inspiring surroundings. Enjoy some free time at the Altstadt old section of the town wander around the winding alleys steeped in history or stroll through the pedestrians Haupstrasse (high street), the main shopping avenue in Heidelberg. Later, check into your hotel in the Rhineland Area. (B, L, D)

Day 5 - On to Switzerland * Drubba * Excursion To The Thundering Rhine Falls At Schaffhausen And A Walking Tour Of Zurich
Today, you will proceed on a spectacular journey and experience the wonders of the Alpine region. Enroute drive through the Black Forest region, visiting Drubba for a cuckoo clock demonstration. Later, enjoy an excursion to Schaffhausen and Zurich. Schaffhausen is an excellent photo opportunity. Here the Rhine River thunders over the Rhine Falls forming Europe's largest waterfall. Continue on your scenic drive to Zurich, where on arrival you will proceed on an orientation tour strolling down Bahnhofstrasse the city's fanciest shopping street, past famous sights like Peterskirche (St. Peter's Church), famous for its 16th Century clock, the largest clock face in Europe and the elegant copper spire of the Fraumunster found in the 9th Century with impressive stained glass windows. Across the Limmat River, you will get a view of the Grossmunster a beautiful Romanesque and Gothic Cathedral dedicated to Zurichs patron saints. Finally proceed to check into your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 6 - Optional Tour To Mt. Titlis, Ice Flyer, Lucerne City Tour and Lake Lucerne Cruise * Optional Gala Evening With Swiss
The day is free. Or take an optional excursion to Mt.Titlis for some excitement and adventure in the Swiss Alps. The excitement begins with a rotating cable car ride up the mountain, followed by a thrilling ride in the Ice Flyer above the glacier. Experience the thrill of numerous attractions like a visit to the Glacier Park or try your hand at rollicking on snow tubes. The day continues with a visit to Lucerne city whrere you will visit the Lion Monument, carved into a limestone cliff followed by a stroll along the covered Kappelbrucke to the richly ornate Jesuit Church. Later, enjoy a visit to Casagrande, a unique shop for souvenirs. Enjoy a mesmerising cruise along the tranquil waters of Lake Lucerne. Tonight live it up with Cox & Kings celebration on this gala optional. Mt. Cox & Kings - a Swiss mountain in the Lungern - Schonbuel belt, so exclusive, it's exclusively for you. Getting there is half the fun, as you can enjoy a cable car as it winds uphill enabling you a 360 degrees view of the Bernese Oberland. If nature is not enough, there are walking trails, games, chocolate casting and an animated singing cow stable for the kids. To top it up there is a Swiss Folklore event, a gala dinner followed by disco dancing. Experience the heights of entertainment only on our exclusive Mt. Cox & Kings! (B)

Day 7 - Day At Leisure * Optional Excursion To The Jungfraujoch - The 'Top Of Europe' Ascending By Cogwheel Train, Interlaken City Tour And Visit The Aare Gorge
The day is free. We highly recommend our optional excursion to the Jungfraujoch - 'The top of Europe ', ascending by cogwheel train to the top, which at 3454 meters is Europe highest altitude railway station. Enjoy numerous attractions like a walk on the great Aletsch Glacier - the longest ice stream in the Alps and the Sphinx Observation Hall. Visit the glistening Ice Palace, 30 meters under the surface of the glacier and admire lifesize ice sculptures and join us in our 249th celebratory year as Jungfrau felicitates Cox & Kings. We have been honoured with our own ice sculpture at the Ice Palace - an exclusive first!.. You can take a celebratory picture here as a fitting finale to one of the most picturesque experiences in Europe. Later descend to visit the picturesque resort town in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, Interlaken, where even today one can see horse-drawn carriages. Visit the Kirchhofer 's Casino Gallery famous for Swiss watches and chocolates. The day comes to an end with another exclusive from Cox & Kings a visit to Aareschlucht, the Aare Gorge at Meiringen, another exclusive from Cox & Kings. It is a 1400 m long and 200 m wide wonder of nature. You can walk through the gorge along a footpath and tunnels cut right through the rock. Later return to your hotel. (B, D)

Day 8 - On to Innsbruck * Visit Vaduz * Visit Swarovski Crystal Worlds * Orientation City Tour Of Innsbruck
Today enjoy a scenic drive to the tiny independant principality of Liechtenstein famous for its postage stamps. Following a brief stop in the capital Vaduz , continue your drive to Innsbruck. Enroute, visit the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens for a visit to the 'Chambers of Wonder', where you will be awe struck! A real treat for crystal enthusiasts is the Swarovski shop, which has a remarkable collection of beautiful exhibits. Carry onwards to Innsbruck where you will be taken on an orientation tour. View famous landmarks like the Golden Roof also known as the Golden Dachl, the ornate Imperial Church and the magnificent Imperial Palace. Later check into your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 9 - On to Venice Area * Walking City Tour Of Venice
Today after breakfast your journey takes you on a drive past quaint villages and medieval castles, cutting across the fertile Adriatic Plains, to the magical lagoon city of Venice where you proceed on a walking city tour. Start with a canal cruise from Tronchetto Pier when you will start to see its incredible miniature labyrinth of canals and fairytale palaces, to the Piazza San Marco (St. Marks Square), where you disembark and continue to the Doge's Palace which is connected by the Bridge of Sighs to the feared prisons. It was from here that the legendary Casanova made his famous escape! Continue to the square for a view of the famous Moors who have been striking the hour for the past 500 years. Don't forget to admire the beautiful mosaics and scintillating wonders decorating St. Marks Basilica. This exciting tour ends with a brief visit to the Murano Glass Factory for a demonstration in glass blowing. Carry onwards and check into your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 10 - On to Tuscany * Orientation Tour Of Pisa * Walking Tour Of Florence
The day begins with a drive along the Brenta Riviera to Galileo's coastal town of Pisa where you will visit the Field of Miracles, the Duomo, the Baptistery and the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa (photo stop), famed for its characteristic tilt, but also for the beauty of its architectural structure. Continue to Florence, a shrine to the wonders of the Renaissance, a living breathing museum. Included in our walking tour is a visit to the open-air gallery in Signoria Square, the famous Duomo which offers a breathtaking view of the entire city from the top, the magnifi cent 'Gates of Paradise' adorning the Baptistery and the Ponte Vecchio, the oldest surviving bridge in the city. Then proceed on a drive through a stretch of olive groves and vineyards of the Tuscany region where on arrival you will check into your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 11 - On to Rome * Visit the Vatican City * Guided Panoramic City Tour Of Rome
This morning, proceed on a drive through some of the finest Italian countryside, past Orte & Orvieto to the "Eternal City" of Rome. Enjoy a full day introduction to Rome and the Vatican, the smallest state in the world within the city of Rome. Begin at St. Peter 's square, the largest church in the world symbolizing the center of Christianity. The St. Peter 's Basilica features the famous Michelangelo 's Pieta Continue your guided panoramic city tour which includes a photo stop at the grand ruins of the mighty Colosseum; the triumphal Arch of Constantine followed by a drive through Piazza Venezia, the main square in Rome where the monument to the reunification of Italy overshadows the other monuments with it 's sheer size and blinding white colour. Then see the Circus Maximus, known for its ancient chariot races and the ruins of the Roman Forum. End the tour at the famous Trevi Fountain - the largest fountain in the city, where if you make a wish and toss a coin you are sure to return to Rome! Later check into your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 12 - On to The Mont Blanc In Chamonix Valley
This morning after an early breakfast proceed to the Love at first sight Chamonix valley and enter the majestic world of the high mountains and the exhilarating Mont Blanc. This is the third most visited natural site in the world. You will be mesmerised by the breathtaking delights of the glacier around you. Later check into your hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 13 - Tour with Cable Car Ride To Aiguille Du Midi And The Cog Railway To Montenvers * Geneva Orientation Tour * TGV To Paris
Today, take an excursion, where you take the highest and most impressive cable car ride in Chamonix, the Aiguille du Midi to 3842 meters where an unforgettable view of the world renowned Mont Blanc range around and the magnificent Chamonix Valley unfolds below. On a clear day you can also see the Monte Rosa, the Grand Combin and even the Matterhorn. Later enjoy an exceptional sightseeing excursion with a never-ending view on the nostalgic red cog railway of Montenvers, the highest scenic train in the Alps directly up to the "Mer de Glace" (sea of ice) Glacier at 1913 meters as you soak in the exhilarating views around you. The 'Mer de Glace' is 7 kms long and 200 meters thick with a surface dimension of 40 Kms. Here a crystal gallery, a wildlife exhibition, an ice garden and the famous ice grotto 100 meters long, carved each year into the heart of the glacier awaits you. Later in the afternoon, drive to the Geneva for an orientation tour which includes the Palais Des Nations - U.N. building, the Musee Ariana, the Jet d'eau and the beautiful flower clock situated in the Jardin Anglais. Then, proceed to the station to board the high - speed train the 'TGV' to Paris, the romantic 'City of Lights' . The TGV is a convenient and comfortable way of travelling and cuts out the long drive by coach by almost three to fours hours from Geneva to Paris. On arrival, check into your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 14 - Guided Panoramic City Tour Of Paris * Visit To The Grevin Wax Museum * Visit Galeries Lafayette * Ascend The 3rd Level Of The Eiffel Tower * River Seine Cruise * Optional 'Gala Evening In Paris' Visit To The World Famous Lido, Which Has Flamboy
Today, enjoy a guided panoramic city tour of famous monuments like the splendid Louvre glass pyramid and museum, Garnier's Opera - one of the grandest Opera houses ever built, Place de la Concorde - the largest square in the city, the Champs Elysees - one of the most fashionable streets in the world, the Arc de Triomphe - the biggest triumphal arch in the world and Hotel des Invalides. Later, visit the famous Grevin Wax Museum, an exclusive introduced by Cox & Kings for the very fi rst time. Grevin, in1882, was created by Alfred Grevin a cartoonist and his friend Gabriel Thomas a brilliant wit. With the know-how born of 120 years of experience, the Grevin is the symbol of the distinguished art of waxwork. Madam Tussaud apprenticed here before opening her wax museum. Three hundred wax figures of superstars, major political leaders, international celebrities, top models and sports heroes are waiting to be photographed with you. Ascend by an elevator to the viewing platform on the 3rd level for a dazzling panoramic overview of the city. Also enjoy a cruise on the River Seine, sailing under some of the city's enchanting bridges, admiring the dazzling sights and monuments among others. Later this evening, don't miss our optional Cox & Kings Gala Evening where you will experience the joie de vivre of 'Gaie Paris'. This exciting evening unfolds at the world famous Lido Show. Enjoy a glass of complimentary champagne amidst the music, extraordinary sets and extravagant costumes. End this magical evening of Paris by night on the Illumination Tour driving past spectacularly lit landmarks of Paris. Later return to the hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 15 - Return home with happy memories
Today bid farewell to Paris as your tour ends in Paris. However, if you so choose, you can after breakfast proceed to Calais to board the ferry for a Channel crossing. On arrival at Dover port board your coach and carry onto London.

Just a quick update on our conference in Zanzibar. We had a great time and thank you so much for organizing it so well.

La Gemma was amazing with their accommodation and conference facilities. The staff played their part well and were there for us anytime we needed them.

Definitely a recommendation to your clients with an excellent service given by them.

Madeira tours did an outstanding job as well with efficient timings in pickups and transfers to the hotel and stone town. The cars were in good condition and all the drivers were friendly and information. Abdullah, really went out of his way in serving us and was in constant touch with me- didn’t feel lost at all in Znz. He also helped us in ticket reconfirmations- all in all a very helpful and caring tours company. Special thanks to Abdullah for tolerating our last minute changes.
